PANASONIC P2 DATA MANAGEMENT     
The Panasonic P2 “Store” (AJ-PCS060G) is a 60 GB portable hard disk unit which can receive P2 card contents and in turn transfers the same content to another storage device such as on set laptop, large capacity hard drive, or later to a nonlinear editing system.

The Panasonic P2 “Drive” (AJ-PCD20) allows the content of up to five P2 recorded cards to be downloaded to laptops or hard drives in the field or into nonlinear editing systems and servers in post.

The Panasonic P2 “Gear” (AG-HPG10) has a built in 3.5” LCD monitor which allows for the viewing of P2 recorded content.  In addition, it also handles on set backup recording and file management of your footage.

The Panasonic P2 “Mobile” (AJ-HPM100) boasts a built in crystal clear 9” LCD monitor which allows for the viewing and stereo listening of P2 recorded content.  In addition, it also handles on set backup recording and file management of your footage.

THE RED ONE ACESSORIES
The 5.6” RED LCD on board monitor provides a very nice looking 1024 x 600 pixel image for the viewer.  Features include SurroundView™ look around and frame guide overlays, camera status indication, focus assist, waveform monitor, histogram, false color and zebra exposure, audio level, frame rate, battery status and media remaining.

The CF (Compact Flash read/write) Module is simply an interface by which the 8GB CF media cards can be inserted.

Each CF (Compact Flash) 8GB card provides about four minutes of footage in 4K resolution.

The 320GB RED DRIVE is made up of two 2.5” 160GB laptop hard drives and is capable of recording between two and three hours of 4K REDCODE RAW footage.

The RED RAIL system allows weight to easily be distributed closer to the camera body or further away in tripod or hand held modes.

HD MONITORS

6” ERG Ventures HDM-EV30D

The HDM-EV30D is a compact, six inch LCD monitor for HDTV and SDTVs. There are two systems of video input, HDSDI and analog HDTV or SDTV. The active LCD area has a 960 x 540 resolution, and can display 16.77 million colors by having 8 bits per RGB. Because of its resolution, the HDM-EV-30D can naturally display its images when receiving signals from the HDTV 1080. This is possible because it does not need to make any conversions to other resolutions.

6” Astro WM 3004

The WM-3004 is a portable wave form monitor that is optimal equipment for filming in locations where transportation of equipment is difficult such as in the recesses of a mountain or an overseas location. Multiple functions like image confirmation monitoring, wave form monitoring and vector scoping are provided in a single unit. This monitor now been upgraded with a Quad Display Function in which the Waveform, Vector Scope, Sound Detail and Picture can be displayed simultaneously in split screen display. Demanding environments is not required as it accepts full HD format and SD (525i and 625i) input signals while power is supplied by camera batteries. WM-3004 provides pleasant location filming that had previously been very difficult.

 


8.5” Panasonic BT-LH900 HD LCD Monitor with Waveform

The Panasonic BT-LH900 Multi-Format Color Production Monitor greatly simplifies HD and SD monitoring on location or on a sound stage.  It’s a slim 2.5-inch profile, light 4.4 lbs. and energy efficient by consuming less power that a conventional CRT HD monitor. In addition, DC operation makes it ideal for outdoor applications.
This fantastic monitor is equipped with two SDI inputs automatically detecting HD or SD, one component input (Y/Pb/Pr or RGBS), and one composite input.     20” Sony PVM-20L5 HD/SD CRT Monitor

    This 20" professional multiformat monitor is equipped with input connectors for composite and RGB/component signals. In combination with the optional input adaptors, it is also able to accept a wide range of digital signals including 480/60i, 575/50i, 1035/60i, 1080/60i, 720/60p and 1080/24Psf.     Panasonic HD Frame Rate Converter (AJ-FRC27)

    The AJ-FRC27 converts the frame rates of images recorded using the Varicam. It extracts the frames you designate, records them to an internal HDD, and plays them back (up to 100 minutes). This lets you play fast-motion or slow-motion effects in their actual, intended timeframes.
    The AJ-FRC27 also serves as a format converter. You can convert 720p images to 1080/23.98(24)psF, 1080/59.94(60)i, or 1080/50i (see conversion table). A built-in, simplified down-converter lets you monitor SD analog output. Adding an optional down-converter board also gives you high-picture-quality conversion to NTSC or PAL. The time code is automatically converted at the same time, ensuring that optimal image sources are output in the desired format. The AJ-FRC27's compact, half-rack size and 5U profile make it good fit for applications ranging from studio use to EFP or relay use.

    Varispeed Speed Ramp Controller (VSC-27)

    This controller enables you to program a controlled frame rate change over a defined period of time.  Also, it will give you control over the Panasonic Varicam’s time lapse recorder so that all you do is program the controller with the duration of the scene and how long you want it to last on screen and it will program the camera’s intervalometer accordingly.

    Panasonic HD Gamma Correction Unit (AJ-GBX27)

    The AJ-GBX27 is for use when the VariCam is in FILM MENU mode and CINE GAMMA SEL is set to FILM REC.  This device applies a gamma correction curve to the HD-SDI monitor output of the VariCam so the director of photography can see a more accurate representation – in the field, on a production monitor – how the final image will appear after its output to film or after footage is corrected for an HD release.  The AJ-GBX27 is extremely easy to use - simply choose the desired correction mode.

    In addition to 720p (59.94/60 Hz), the AJ-GBX27 is compatible with 1080i (59.94/60/50 Hz) and 1080p (23.97/24 Hz) HD formats (note that this is NOT a format conversion function.  It allows input/output of the same format only!).  This makes it ideal for recording and for editing, package production, and a host of other applications.  The 12 volt power supply (XLR 4 pin) lets you take the unit into the field.  One HD-SDI input, two HD-SDI outputs, and an analog HD (Y/Pb/Pr) output are provided for convenient monitor connection.



    AJA HD10MD3 Downconverter

    The HD10MD3 is a miniature digital downconverter for converting HD-SDI video to standard definition SDI and analog component/composite video. The HD10MD3 uses a full 10-bit data path and multi-point interpolation to produce broadcast quality downconverted video. In addition, the HD10MD3 converts either 1080p24 or 1080p24sf to 59.94 Hz output video using the standard 3:2 pulldown technique. The output can be formatted for either 4:3 or 16:9 standard definition monitors. Four-channel input embedded HD-SDI audio is passed to the SDI output.

    This handheld remote control panel transfers what are normally menu adjustments to physical switches, knobs and buttons for ease of use in the field.

    PANASONIC P2 DATA MANAGEMENT


    Panasonic P2 “Store” (AJ-PCS060G)

    The Panasonic P2 Store is a rugged, portable hard disk unit with a P2 card slot that quickly transfers the content of P2 cards to an internal hard disk drive.

    The 2.5" 60GB hard disk drive can hold the contents of up to seven 8GB P2 cards.  After the P2 content has been transferred, the Store can connect to a nonlinear editing system or server or ingests to a PC via a USB 2.0 interface and appears as a series of external disk drives. It has a shock-resistant magnesium alloy body and is equipped with special impact-absorbing materials to cushion the hard disk against shock and vibration.

    In the field, the less than 1.5 pound Store serves as an aggregation and transport device, storing the contents of P2 cards and minimizing the number of P2 cards needed. Back at the studio, it serves as a high-speed drive for transferring video into a station's local area network (LAN) or nonlinear editing system to speed access to the recorded content.

    For quick and easy operation, the Store simply has a large start button. The drive also includes LED indicators for copy status, drive capacity, and battery life remaining. The drive supports Windows 2000, Windows XP and Apple operating systems. Drivers for all operating systems are included. It runs on DC power, so you can use a 7.2V DC battery or a 7.9V AC adaptor to power it.


    Panasonic P2 “Drive” (AJ-PCD20)

    This solid-state memory drive answers the need of today's video professional for faster, easier file transfers on the desktop or in the field. This flexible, time-saving internal/external drive allows users to mount five 8GB P2 cards simultaneously for instant access and continuous editing of all recorded content in sequence. The P2 drive now offers an IEEE1394b interface (in addition to USB 2.0) for high-speed transfers of DVCPRO, DVCPRO50, or DVCPRO HD content into nonlinear editing systems and servers. Compatible with Windows 2000, XP and MAC OS X, the AJ-PCD20 can be installed directly into a standard PC 5.25" bay drive enclosure or connected to a computer and local area network (LAN) via its USB 2.0 or IEEE1394b interfaces. The flexible AJ-PCD20 also serves as a stand-alone external drive when connected with laptops for in-the-field use.

    Panasonic P2 “Gear” (AG-HPG10)

    Dubbed the P2 Gear, the 1.1-pound, battery-operated AG-HPG10 provides viewing, backup recording and file management of P2 recorded content in a single, small portable unit.
    With two P2 card slots and a 3.5-inch 4:3 LCD monitor, the P2 Gear offers on-the-spot playback and viewing of P2 content in multiple formats (1080i, 720p, 576i and 480i). The heavy-duty, shock-resistant player is equipped with speakers, easy-to-use controls and professional input/outputs (IEEE 1394, USB 2.0 and HD-SDI) for essential in-the-field functions including: viewing clips recorded on a P2 card or the FOCUS FS-100 portable hard drive, copying files to an external hard drive, outputting a playback signal to a large monitor and backup recording with P2 HD/P2 or tape-based DVCPRO cameras. To expedite workflow, the P2 Gear can be connected to a Windows PC or Mac and used as P2 card reader for data transfers into nonlinear editing systems. In addition, it can be connected to a PC or MAC for baseband monitoring or integrated with conventional tape-based decks and recorders as a source device without control.

    Panasonic P2 “Mobile” (AJ-HPM100)

    This portable, rugged 4:2:2, 10-bit capable solid-state memory recorder/player is ideal for field production, postproduction as well as ENG applications.  It features multi-format recording (DVCPROHD/50/25 and in AVC-Intra) and playback with a six-slot P2 card reader, versatile inputs/outputs (HD-SDI, IEEE 1394, USB 2.0), an SD memory card slot, job/shuttle dial and up/down/cross conversion between 1080i and 720p and between high definition and standard definition formats. Plus, the P2 Mobile combines professional editing controls with audio faders, a 9-inch widescreen LCD monitor with stereo speakers, and a compact, magnesium die-cast body. It's a versatile and powerful mobile recording/editing solution for field recording (including pool feeds) and video production, as well as for use in mobile vans or in desktop non-linear/linear editing systems.

    With its extensive functionality and multiple-format video capabilities, the P2 incorporates the best of the AV and IT worlds, allowing you to work in 10-bit, 4:2:2 high definition or standard definition, bridging the gap between the P2 file format and baseband video. The P2 Mobile's capabilities enable you to excel at projects that require multiple video, audio, IEEE1394, RS-422 serial control for NLE connections, and let you take advantage of USB 2.0 to connect with industry-standard disk drives for consolidation of P2 card content.

    5.6” RED LCD on board monitor

    This display provides a 1024 x 600 pixel scaled version of the 1280 x 720 signal generated for the HD Preview output, or the 1280 x 848 signal generated for the RED-EVF, user selectable by a switch on top of the panel. In the either case, the display represents the captured RAW image complete with SurroundView™ look around and frame guide overlays. In the latter case, the display also includes camera status indication including focus assist, waveform monitor, histogram, false color and zebra exposure, audio level, frame rate, battery status and media remaining. The RED-LCD also displays the camera menus when activated. Panel intensity can adjusted to accommodate operation in high ambient light.

    CF (Compact Flash read/write) Module

    The RED CF (CompactFlash read/write) Module has become the de facto standard method of recording on the RED One. The Module does not actually store data – instead it adds an interface into which CompactFlash media cards can be inserted.  Offering the equivalent of a 400ft film reel per 8GB card, this "necessity" also provides the solution for a speedy and reliable firmware upgrade path.

    Each CF (Compact Flash) 8 GB card provides about four minutes of footage in 4K resolution.

    320GB RED DRIVE

    The RED DRIVE (RAID)™ is the workhorse of RED ONE™ digital media choices. It is both the lowest priced and highest capacity media available at this time. It is an outboard media format that can be mounted in the RED RAIL CRADLE on the camera body or RAIL system. It interfaces with the camera via the Drive Connector LEMO. The 320GB RED DRIVE is made up of two 2.5" 160GB laptop hard drives arranged in a hardware-based RAID 0. The drives are in a RAID for data transfer speeds – it cannot be reconfigured to record in a RAID 1 mirrored formatting. The RED DRIVE™ is capable of recording between two and three hours of 4K REDCODE™ RAW footage. To the user, what goes on inside of the RED DRIVE™ can be most easily explained as "magic pixies." No matter how you look at it, storing two to three hours of 4K REDCODE™ RAW footage on a drive smaller than an ASC manual is downright unbelievable.
