CHICAGO, IL, August 14, 2001 — In conjunction with International
Cinematographers Guild, IA Local 600, Schumacher Camera will host a Skills

their facility at 1147 W. Ohio in Chicago.
National President, George Spiro Dibie, ASC, will open the sessions, along
with IA 600 representatives and training committee members, who will address
Union and member responsibilities.
Individual sessions will range from general topics, such as: AC’s dealing with production companies and production managers, what you’re expected to know on the set, handling paperwork and payroll — to specifics, including: the roles of first and second camera assistants, focus pulling, assisting the Steadicam, loading film and handling film inventory, and more.
The Schumacher staff will cover The Rental House with topics such as: what to expect (from the rental house) as an A.C., what is expected of you, and training opportunities available. Schumacher is also providing hands-on sessions with a variety of cameras, including the Arri 435, Arri 535, Aaton 35-III, and other specialty equipment.
