Camera Equipment Used On CBS’s New Television Series "The
Fugitive" |

CHICAGO, IL, September 15, 2000 — Motion picture camera equipment from Schumacher Camera was recently used on the first episode of the Warner Bros. Television series The Fugitive to premiere on Friday, October 6th at 8:00 p.m. on CBS.
Shot at night in Waukegan, Illinois, from March 22-31st, the stunt-driven episode, which included the rolling of a van and the jackknifing of a car carrier, posed some unique challenges for any rental shop. The filming required multiple cameras, numerous specialty items and a short prep time. At Schumacher Camera, this is all in a day's work.
Schumacher
equipment used for the second unit on The Fugitive included Arriflex
435ES and Arriflex 35-III cameras and various specialty items. Their "brand
new in town" award-winning Cooke S4 Lenses were also used on this shoot,
where their unique capabilities were a definite advantage. Given that this
was a night shoot, it was important to use lenses that allowed excellent
resolution while maintaining superb control of flares without distortion
at full aperture.
David Morenz, second unit AC on the project, said, "The Schumacher team is incredibly conscientious. They did a great job of putting the camera packages together and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, even coming in at 8:30 p.m. on a Saturday night to wrap the equipment." Morenz, whose recent credits include High Fidelity and Unconditional Love, also worked on the film version of The Fugitive. A veteran AC, he knows what can go wrong when equipment is not properly maintained. "Schumacher's equipment is superb," he said. "It looks almost brand new when you take it out."
Credits
Second unit Director was Terry Leonard. Tom Priestly was second unit DP.
The Fugitive features Tim Daly as Dr. Richard Kimble and Mykelti Williamson as Lieutenant Gerard.
